Dining with Diabetes Cooking School

This cooking school is offered two times each year and is designed to help both the diabetic and/or caregiver learn how to prepare food with less salt, fat and sugar and still taste good. Classes are normally taught at the Health Department.

Parenting Apart: Effective Co-Parenting

This four hour class is designed to help divorcing parents learn how to help their children cope with issus that arise because of the parents' divorce. Topics include stress, communication skills, mediation. divorce procedures and domestic violence.

Arthritis Self-Help Course

This course is two hours for six weeks. Class topics include Arthritis, Flexibility and Strengthening Exercises, Pain Management, Fatigue, Healthy Eating, Problem Solving and Medications.

Family and Community Education Clubs (FCE)

Family and Community Education has been a strong voice in promoting a healthier and better life for individuals, families, and communities. Building on the strength of the family as the center of a strong citizenry, FCE has a rich history of accomplishments.
Early efforts focused on support for a national school lunch program, development of local public health services, immunization programs for children, implementation of the first bookmobiles, and national safety programs. Recent efforts resulted in the establishment of the content-based television programming system for children and families.

Debtor Education

Debtor education is designed for individuals who have filed or are in the process of filing for bankruptcy. This class meets the post-bankruptcy education requirement as required by the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005. This two-hour class covers a variety of topics related to financial management including building a budget, wise use of credit, and consumer rights and protection. This class is offered on an as-needed basis, by appointment throughout the year.
